What would you like to see in your volunteer management system?

  1. I would like to see some means of tracking volunteer recognition based up on hours and/or years. It would be of additional help to have a date field that would note the date it was given and a custom field as to what was given. Possibly an alert could be set up based upon hours and our years.

  2. Thanks for posting your comment about tracking recognition. You can track volunteer recognition in the present version of Volunteer Impact. If you are a current customer, please give us a call and we would be happy to help you with it.

    The alerts based on hours or years is not part of the next release but it is a feature on a short list for an upgrade in the future.

Tony - since volunteer management is all about communications, please, please, please update the email function to provide the same kind of layout controls you would find for a blog or newsletter. I've tried writing html into the message interface but not all of the recipients have their email clients set to receive that. This would be a HUGE help to those of us who are also desktop publishers. Thanks!

  4. Hi Keith - Thank you for your feedback.

    Although our 3.0 release won't be including all of the functionality of a dedicated newsletter program such as Constant Contact or blog system such as Blogger (both of which are large independent systems in and of themselves), we think the next steps we are taking in the new release of our software make great improvements on our emailing capability that you will be very happy to use. We don't envision ALL of the functions of a Constant Contact being incorporated into our software, but I do like the idea of continuing to add to our formatting capabilities.

    Tune in on Friday for a list of some of those upgrades that will be included in Volunteer Impact and Volunteer Umbrella version 3.0.

  5. Hi Tony!

    We are loving our first year with Volunteer2! I would like to see a way to include several attachments when sending emails. Is that possible? Right now I can only attach one document so I then have to send multiple emails (i.e. we email instructions, concert descriptions, volunteer ticket order form, etc. when I send out the "please sign up now!" email to my volunteers each season).

  7. When I search and create a list of volunteers, I appreciate that they are listed in alphabetical order by last name, but it would be helpful to view the last name first. It is difficult to read down a list of 100+ names.
